Yearly Semi-Trailer Maintenance
Semi-trailers require a lot of care and upkeep, and it’s easy to fall behind on important maintenance tasks. To ensure your trailer doesn’t fall to pieces because you forgot to replace an important component, be sure to read over our helpful yearly maintenance checklist below.
Yearly Inspections
A thorough inspection is the best way to find small problems before they become serious maintenance issues. To avoid a costly repair or unexpected breakdown, be sure to give your semi-trailer an in-depth examination at least once a year. Be sure to inspect your trailer’s connections, tires, and suspension, as well as examine your interior and exterior for any signs of rust or corrosion that need to be cared for.
Professional Care
Even if you don’t find anything during your yearly semi-trailer inspection, it’s still a good idea to bring your model in to see a professional. A professional tune-up once a year can do a lot to extend the life of your semi-trailer and will help you catch small issues before they become serious problems.
Cleaning
MAny semi-trailer owners don’t prioritize keeping their rigs clean. However, giving your model a deep cleaning once a year can help fight off rust and corrosion and improve the performance of your semi-trailer. When giving your semi-trailer its yearly deep cleaning, we recommend using an acid wash to remove the majority of the muck and grime from your rig, then following up with a protective polish and wax to extend the life of your trailer.
